Polish-Russian Partner Search Forum in Olsztyn 2017-06-14, Category: Programme news

On Tuesday, 13 June 2017, the Polish-Russian Partner Search Forum took place in Olsztyn, Poland. The event was directed to Polish and Russian institutions and aimed at presenting the Programme's rules of operation and enabling representatives of institutions from both countries to establish cooperation.

"We hope that such fertile soil will allow you to sow seeds of cooperation, and then to harvest from it,"  said Rafał Baliński, Deputy Director of the Department of Territorial Cooperation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Poland.

The event, which was held in the Center for the Implementation and Promotion of Innovation in Olsztyn, gathered a large group of attendees. As many as 236 participants from Poland and Russia took part in the event. The Forum was organized in the framework of the Poland-Russia Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020 (Programme). The beneficiaries of the Programme may be, for example, national, regional and local authorities, non-governmental organizations, education and research institutions. The grant value is from 100 thousand up to 2.5 million euro, while the maximum amount of Programme co-funding reaches the level of 90%. The call for proposals will indicatively start in late July and end in October 2017.

The theme of partnership was introduced in the presentation delivered by Paweł Molenda – TESIM ENI CBC expert. He emphasized that participation in cross-border cooperation projects requires long-term cooperation between partners – both during and after the project execution, in line with the relevant EU regulations.

After the conference part, the attendees moved to the networking sessions focused on topics related to the Programme's priorities: Heritage, Environment and Accessibility. With about 80 participants, the panel on Heritage was the most popular.

The organizers of the Forum were the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Poland, acting as the Managing Authority of the Programme and the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme (JTS), which has been operating in Olsztyn since March 2017. Any additional information about the Programme can be obtained from the JTS. More details and the necessary documentation is also available on the Programme's website at: www.plru.eu.
