Completion of the project "Museums over the borders. Stage II "

The Museum of Archaeology and History in Elbląg is finalizing the project "Museums over the borders. Stage II ", which promotes the historical and cultural heritage of the border region and the city of Elbląg, based on partnership cooperation with institutions from Poland and abroad. The overriding and long-term goal of the project was to preserve and develop the historical and cultural heritage of the border region, including museum facilities, and, as a result, to increase the tourist attractiveness of the region and the institutions involved in the project

Study visit as part of the project ‘CBCycle: Crossborder cycle routes for the promotion and sustainable use of cultural heritage’

On 3-4 June 2022 in Lidzbark Warmiński, a study visit was organised as part of the project ‘CBCycle: Crossborder cycle routes for the promotion and sustainable use of cultural heritage', co-financed within the European Union under the European Neighborhood Instrument. Its aim was to present the accessibility and use of cultural heritage objects in the creation of a tourist offer targeted at bicycle tourists and to exchange experiences related to the planning and development of bicycle routes

Cultural (Un)rest. Meeting, concert and outdoor performance

More than two years ago, the Elbląg Museum of Archaeology and History has started the implementation of the project "Museums over the borders. Stage II ”co-financed by the European Union, within the European Neighbourhood Instrument. As part of the project, i.a. two new exhibitions were opened, a herb garden was created and equipment for outdoor events was purchased. To celebrate the end of the project, on 11 June 2022, the Museum in cooperation with the C. Norwid Elbląg Library organises the Kulturalne (Nie)pokoje event (Cultural (Un)rest)

The grand opening of the warehouse building in Olsztynek

On Wednesday, (24th November, 2021) the grand opening of the warehouse building with its museum collection took place in Olsztynek. Among the invited guests there were: representatives of the Managing Authority and the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Poland-Russia CBC Programme 2014-2020, local and regional government and museologists. During the event, the ribbon cutting ceremony was held. Moreover, a foundation act (document containing all information about the object) was signed and submitted to a copper. The ceremony was graced with a concert of the Babsztyl band. At the end of the event, there was a tour around the warehouse, during which the guests were presented with modern shelving systems for storing museum items
