On the 5th of November (Friday) at 6 p.m. the Museum of Archaeology and History in Elbląg will hold a unique double opening of new exhibitions. After a long break, in a refreshed setting and on a slightly limited area, the exhibition “Testimonies. History in faces – faces of history” will have its comeback. It will also be the first chance to see an exhibition titled “ City of new people. Elbląg in the first post-war decade 1945 – 1955” being a chronological follow-up to “Testimonies”

In relation to the preparation of the new Interreg Poland-Russia 2021-2027 Programme and the obligation to conduct a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), we launched public consultations on the Strategic Environmental Assessment Report, which is the basis for the procedure being conducted

The 10th Forum of Regions – Partners of the Kaliningrad Region was held on the 7th and 8th of October, 2021 in Svetlogorsk. The organiser was the Regional Agency for international and interregional relations. The event was attended by Mr Igor Kapyrin, Deputy Director of the Department for European Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mr Normunds Popens, Deputy Director, the General Directorate for EU Regional Policy and other officials. Participants from Poland, Norway, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Sweden, Lithuania and other countries have joined the online forum. The main topics of the reports are related to the green and digital economy, cross-border cooperation, culture, tourism and climate change.

On the 27th of September, 2021, a bike ride of officials to celebrate the European Cooperation Day, took place. The event was attended by the EU Ambassador to the Russian Federation Mr Markus Ederer, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Mr Dmitriy Volvach, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Mr Anton Alikhanov and representatives of the regional government and diplomatic corps in Kaliningrad. It was organised along a section of a new cycle path, that is being constructed as part of the Large Infrastructure Project of the Poland-Russia CBC Programme 2014-2020 “CBCycle: Cross-border cycle routes for promotion and sustainable use of cultural heritage”

Last Saturday (25th September), a bike ride was held in Dźwierzuty to celebrate the European Cooperation Day and the grand opening of a cycle path, nearly 23 km long, running along the old railway line that used to connect Szczytno with Biskupiec

On the 25th of September, 2021 in Sovetsk, a bike ride targeted at general public was organised. Approximately 100 people took part in this event. It was held within the framework of the project ‘Gizycko and SoVeTSk – cooperation for the development of preservation of the historical, cultural and natural heritage in the cross-border area’ and the celebration of the European Cooperation Day.

On September 27, 2021, a bike ride of officials will take place in honor of the 10th anniversary of the celebration of the European Cooperation Day and neighborhood relationships between Russia and the EU. This time, the event will be attended by the EU Ambassador to the Russian Federation Mr. Markus Ederer, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Mr. Dmitriy Volvach, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Mr. Anton Alikhanov, representatives of the diplomatic corps of the European Union and Russia, officials of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region.

Last weekend (17th-19th September), a three-day rally “Giżycko-SoVeTSK” took place in Giżycko, organized under the project “Giżycko and SoVeTSk – cooperation for the development of preservation of the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the cross-border area”. The event was part of the celebration of the European Cooperation Day and the European Funds Open Days. On behalf of the institutions of the Poland-Russia Cross-border Cooperation Programme it was attended by Director of the Centre for European Projects Mr Leszek Buller, Director of the Department of Territorial Cooperation of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy Mr Rafał Baliński, Member of the Board of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Region Ms Jolanta Piotrowska and Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme Ms Katarzyna Bartnik
